The 1948 Chevy 3100 is an American classic. We were so stoked when approached by a local vintage car restorer in Phoenix, Arizona, to help him find a solution for keeping his vintage ride cool in the heat. The Phoenix summer can bring temps upwards of 120 degrees, making air conditioning not an option!

The problem with classic vintage cars is not only the lack of an air conditioning, but the car itself isn’t designed to outfit a sophisticated air conditioning system - space is very limited. Additionally, the charging system can’t support traditional portable air conditioners for cars.

The Cruise N Comfort VES Series portable air conditioners are built with our custom HD series components, but split into smaller individual components. The VES Series is perfect for antique classic cars, hot rods, equipment, limousines, delivery vehicles or wherever you need additional cooling but don’t have the space.

The VES System is a 4 component system that utilizes a 12 volt compressor powered directly from a battery. Our VES system produces approximately 5,000 to 8,000 BTU's depending on the model and voltage. This system will need to be evacuated once assembled and charged with R 134a freon by a certified a/c technician or an automotive repair shop. Remember don’t worry about adding oil, the compressor has enough PVE oil for the initial charge. Add some batteries and a battery charger to make the system isolated from the engines charge circuit.
